Nowadays, Andalusia, the main region for olive oil in the world, is beginning to pick the Olives from the Olive Trees with more than a month of delay if we compare with last years.

The rain during the last weeks and spring apart from the soft temperature in summer, are some reasons to explain why the olives have not ripen till now.

This delay has increased the prices in origin however we are able to maintain the prices at the same level to our partners abroad.

The forecast of our Andalusia government estimates a harvest of 6,400,000 million tons of olives in our region, it means around 1,339,712 tons of Olive Oil, a 40 % highest than the last campaign and a 28% higher than the last five years.

Concerning the Olive Oil harvest in Spain, our Andalusia government estimate a total harvest of 1,550,000 tons, that means a 23,3 % bigger than the last crop.

Finally, concerning the Olive Oil harvest in the world, the update estimations are for 3,064,000 Tons, a 7,6 % lower than the previous harvest.

According to this information, Spain will be crucial again to cover the demand and maintain the prices because the Spanish harvest will get till the 50 % of the total Olive Oil in the world. One figure to compare could be that Jaen (250 km from our facilities) will produce 685,000 tons of Olive Oil, more than Italy and Greece together.
