It is a fact than during the pandemic, Online Trade Missions and Online conferences and webinars were a way to approach to some new markets and companies and of course keep getting knowledge about different countries.

As a first contact between different companies, these new tools are a good start, which does not mean that those traditional face-to-face food fairs should go away, on the contrary, we miss them so much in these difficult times. But, at least, they are an excellent way to continue with great communication between both parties interested in probing new products and opportunities.

This goal on our mind, our company has participated during the last weeks in a Commercial Trade mission in Malaysia and Thailand.

According to María Aznar, our Export Manager for South East Asian countries, “we are very interested to working with these emerging countries because of the big potential of that region thanks to the growth of the middle class year after year. Also, we trust our experience of leadership in China can help us, and also our potential partners, to decide the best strategies”

 Maria adds “It is the right time to be involved in the launching and the development of our products in these markets and we are really motivated and excited to work on that direction”.

On the other hand, our colleague Rafael Aznar will participate in an Online Trade Mission in Angola during the next weeks.

According to him, “Angola is one of the African countries with a bigger population and it is one of the biggest market for Olive Oil in Africa. The Portuguese influence plays an important role in its gastronomy, Olive Oil is already a common ingredient for them”.   

Both Online Trade Missions have been organized through ICEX-the Economic Office of the Spanish Embassy and Extenda in these countries respectively. They have a very big knowledge of the main players in each market because of its long term presence in these countries during decades.

We are sure that face-to-face Food Fairs as ANUGA and EXPO ANTAD ALIMENTARIA are always a very interesting and extraordinary events, in fact, powerful commercial tools because of many different reasons, but we will continue participating in these Online Trade mission format as a way to explore some new business collaborations. As always, a balanced mix of everything is a good thing!
