Do you know how to make doughnuts? The homemade doughnuts are a traditional sweet very popular throughout Spain. They are prepared fried or baked and can be flavored with different ingredients. They are delicious, ideal to accompany with coffee, milk, tea or any other infusion.

The doughnuts are made with caloric ingredients such as oil or flour. Therefore, people with diabetes or those who follow a weight control diet should moderate their consumption.

 Elaboration:

In a bowl beat the butter and sugar very well. Once we have a homogeneous mixture, add the beaten eggs and the orange juice.

With the help of a colander we sift the flour and mix it with the yeast. Little by little we add it to the mixture that we have, beating energetically so that no lumps are formed, until a manageable dough is obtained that does not stick to the edges of the bowl.

Prepare a ball with the dough, wrap it in clear plastic film, and let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours.

After the time of rest of the dough, we smeared Betis oil on the countertop and our hands. We divide our dough into small balls of between 5 and 10 grams depending on the size we want our doughnuts.

This is the easiest way, since it only tends to open a hole in the center with the help of your fingers. If we want more crunchy we can make churritos of thin dough as if it were plasticine, and we join them by the ends.

We put over medium heat a pan with plenty of Betis oil, so that it is taking temperature, it is important that it does not get to smoke. The temperature of the oil is very important, initially you can raise it so that it takes temperature. Then you should lower it or it will be too much on the outside and will be raw inside. The thicker the juicier doughnuts will be inside and crispy on the outside.

Fry the doughnuts in batches of no more than 6, so that the oil does not get too cold.

When they are golden on both sides. We place them on absorbent kitchen paper to remove the excess oil. We let them cool and reserve.

Once cold, sprinkle with icing sugar or plain white sugar. You can add a little cinnamon powder to the sugar, it will give a different touch.

Note: the amounts indicated are for 4 people, preparation 30 min, rest 120 min.
