As a producer & exporter country, olive oil industry becomes more important day by day in Chile. The consumption increase in that country as a result of many promotional campaigns which even try to develop this industry as well as consumers are more educated about the health properties of the olive oil versus other fats.

However, as the local production is not able to cover all the national consumption, Chile needs to import a big volume of olive oil every year, so there are some business opportunities for companies such as BETIS.

In this context, our colleague Luis Fernando Pérez participated in a Trade Mission to Chile from 5th to 9th of June which was organized by Extenda-the Andalusian promotion agency.

He traveled to Santiago and Valparaiso to meet with some of the key players in the food industry in both regions.

According to him, “We are very interested to export BETIS to Chile because it is one of the bigger markets of that region. We are one of the most popular brands in many countries in Latinoamerica and as a producer country, Chilean consumers already know about the health benefit of the olive oil, there is a big culture of consumption there”.

The trade mission was completed by other food companies of Andalusia. These companies promoted other food items such as olives, jams & cheese…. All of them, are complementary products to our oils. It was a complete and very tasteful representation of the Andalusian food industry.

BETIS continues flying high during 2023!
